The Mas experience

After a long drive, you pass the tiny village of Saint-Felix-De-l'Heras . And then? After barely a kilometre, you find yourself in the middle of a gem of a nature campsite. It is wonderfully peaceful. This rustic campsite is beautifully situated in the middle of a very varied nature reserve. You will enjoy the sun, the space, the swimming pool, a drink on the cosy terrace and good food. It is a campsite where, above all, you have an intimate spot where, in principle, you do not need to see anyone. Privacy in optima forma. It is really beautiful and quiet here!

And then after a day of enjoyment, a pleasant evening....then it gets dark, really dark. No light at the campsite! A torch guides you to the clean toilet building. On the site itself the stars twinkle in the sky. And you....joy a well-earned relaxing holiday!
Mas de Messier is ideally suited to couples and families with children up to about 12 years old who appreciate peace, space and limited activity.

Facilities

Our rustic nature campsite has a refreshing swimming pool of 12 x 6 metres with steps and a depth ranging from approx. 115 to 160 cm.
The pool is open from about 1 June to 10 September.

There is a trampoline for the children and also a table tennis table.

The reception is open  from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Outside of these hours, except between noon and two, please contact us on 06 85 81 54 91. We are not far away. The campsite has a very small shop where you can buy the most basic things. You can also go there every day for fresh bread that you have ordered the day before via the app.

For delicious ice creams, there is a self-service freezer in a separate chalet near the reception.
You pick up your own ice cream(s) and indicate what you want via the app.

There is a library with an extensive collection of books and magazines. You can also exchange books here. You take one - you give one.

The sanitary facilities of Mas de Messier are simple, well maintained and highly rated by our guests. We have 4 showers, one of which has a washbasin, 3 separate washbasins, 4 toilets, 2 urinals, 5 dishwashing sinks (one for disabled persons). There is a well-equipped washroom for the disabled persosns with a shower, washbasin and toilet. Of course, there is also a washing machine and a dryer for our guests.

All pitches are equipped with a 6 amp electrical connection with a standard French socket with earth pin.

Good food and drinks

Every day, between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, you are welcome on the terrace for a drink, perhaps accompanied by an 'apéro' platter. Here you can meet your fellow campers over a nice drink, learn all about the daily "on and around the campsite business" and hear the tall tales. Here, just like at the rest of the campsite, it is cosy! The view of the beautiful surroundings is included in the menu. When the weather is less clement, we take a seat in the atmospheric conservatory.

Don't feel like cooking tonight? Three times a week, throughout the summer season (June, July, August), we prepare full, home-cooked menus using fresh and, whenever possible, local ingredients. Everything is available to pre-order and take away. What a treat to enjoy a great meal at home! Outside of school holidays, we host a table d'hôtes once a week. During the Dutch school holidays, we also organize a pancake (sweet) evening.

Fancy an ice cream? Just take it out of the freezer in the red chalet. You tell us what you took via the app.

Not unimportant

WIFI

We provide a free to use wifi system, fibre connected, that is efficient and complies with current regulations. Thers is a good wifi signal around the sanitary building, the swimming pool and on the terrace.

We provide you with a practical and easy-to-use application that gives you all the information you need about the campsite and its surroundings. It includes a messaging module. You can also use this application to order your bread and send the ice cream quantities which You are free te get. When you arrive, we will explain how it works and help you to set it up if necessary.

pets

Pets are very welcome here! Please let us know when making your reservation. We do ask that dogs are sociable and non-aggressive. If your dog does not wander off, they are allowed off-leash on your own camping pitch. However, when walking around the campsite, we kindly ask you to keep your dog on a leash. For dogs, we charge €1.50 per day during the low season and €3.00 per day during the high season. Thank you for your understanding.

Special attention

By early spring 2024, we will have built a completely new sewage treatment plant at the campsite.
In order for our system to continue to function properly, we ask all campers to use as many eco / septic tank friendly products, detergents and polishes as possible.

We draw special attention to the use of toilet fluids in cassette and portable toilets.
At our campsite, it is not allowed to use blue waste tank fluids because they are aggressive and caustic. They are disastrous for optimal operation of the system. In addition, these products are very bad for the environment.
Therefore, we kindly ask you to use ''green'' septic tank friendly products.
The best product you can use is Solbio organic toilet fluid or ROEBIC Holding Tank Treatment for Black & Grey Water or possibly Aquakem Green from Thetford or .
These products are available from us as long as stocks last.

And....

Whether you are travelling with a tent, a trailer tent, a caravan or a motorhome, we have places suitable for all types of campingequipment. A limited number of pitches are available for motorhomes, which are admitted up to a maximum length of 7.50 metres.
double-axle vehicles and campervans / caravans wider than 235 / 240 cm are not allowed.

Also good to know

Payments can be done by card, cash or bank transfer.

Due to regulatory requirements, charcoal barbecues and open fires (including torches, fire pots, etc.) are strictly prohibited. If you want to barbecue, make sure you use a gas barbecue. Electric models cannot be used due to the limited power supply of 6 amps.

Smoking? We discourage everyone! Our terrace is smoke-free anyway.

We also rent refrigerators
Renting a fridge costs € 5,00 per day.
This is a table-top fridge (w50xd60xh85) which should be placed in a dry place in your own camping equipment.
