Lac du Salagou

Lac du Salagou is a reservoir situated at 139 m altitude with a coastline of 28 km. The dam, at the eastern tip of the lake, is 62 metres high.
Lac du Salagou is about a 30 minute drive from the campsite. There is a beach at the lake, but also plenty of other places where you can have a good time! You can rent pedal boats, sailing boats or surfboards.
You can also go hiking or mountain biking.
Around the Lac you will find lovely places such as Clermont-l'Hérault, Celles and Octon. Octon has a nice square with a number of restaurants. In Clermont-l'Hérault you will find many large shops, restaurants and on Wednesday mornings a nice market.

Mediterranean Sea

At about an hour's drive you are at the Mediterranean Sea with the beautiful sandy beaches of Cap Agde, Vias, Grand-Motte, Valras or Marseillan plage. Here it is still quiet on the Côte d'Azur and you will always find a nice spot on the beach. There are also nice harbours with delicious fish restaurants in Sète, Marseillan or Agde.

At the pont de diable (middel-century devils bridge) – Saint Jean de Fos

Pont du Diable" the devil's bridge, is situated at the mouth of the Gorges de L'Hérault. This bridge is the oldest existing medieval bridge in France and is a symbol of the introduction of early Romanesque art in this region.
Near the pont de Diable is a lake with a beach where you can swim. In high season, a shuttle bus runs from the car park to the caves de Clamouse and the touristic town Saint Guilhem-le-Désert. In the river Hérault you can canoe. You can find the rental companies near Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert.
